Walpole - The Orthodontic Specialists are in the news again! We had the amazing opportunity to be featured in the Daily Express' "your health" section. The article highlights the benefits of using the AcceleDent system with correct orthodontic treatment. At Walpole we specialise in reducing the treatment time of orthodontic cases. Led by specialist orthodontist Sharon Orton-Gibbs, we were one of the first orthodontic practices in the UK to use the hi-tech AcceleDent orthodontic device and have used it in many orthodontic cases to supplement patient’s treatment programmes.

Acceledent - The Fast Track to Straight Teeth
Acceledent is a revolutionary technology, essentially it allows our patients here at Walpole in Surrey to reduce their treatment time by up to 30%. We were one of only a few UK orthodontic practices to use this device since its introduction into the UK orthodontic industry back in 2010. Many patients from across the UK have been benefiting from a reduction in orthodontic treatment time thanks to Acceledent; couple this technology with specialist expertise and correct orthodontic treatment, and you can be closer than ever to the smile you deserve. We have successfully used this technology for over 80 orthodontic cases and to further strengthen this case you can see it promoted in the news article below.
Sharon Orton-Gibbs to further present on the Acceledent System
Following on from the lecture that Sharon presented to the British Orthodontics Society in Harrogate a few weeks ago, she has now been invited to present to the French Orthodontic Society in Paris next weekend. Being a highly experienced orthodontist and one of the first to use the Acceledent appliance in the UK. Walpole has subsequently successfully used the Acceledent system with over 60 patients, this is almost twice as much as any other practice in the UK.
Acceledent - Our expertise and knowledge for you!
Over the past few weeks, we have been very busy at Walpole with our open-evenings. Our open evenings are a chance for all referring dentists based Surrey and across the South to come and meet the team. Led by Dr Sharon-Orton Gibbs the open-evenings are a springboard for discussion into the emerging technologies within the dental and orthodontic sectors. It is also a great chance to meet and network.
Walpole's Charity challenge to raise £10,000
It is a significant birthday for Dr Orton-Gibbs this month, and to celebrate she is planning to raise £10,000 for a shooting star CHASE and Hope and Homes for Children, Walpole’s official charities over the following 12 months.
Thought Leadership
Sharon Orton-Gibbs has been invited to lecture at both the British and French Orthodontic Society meetings in September and November 2011. Her experiences as an AcceleDent pioneer are of great interest to fellow orthodontic professions.
AcceleDent – more completed cases
Our patients are now seeing the results of a new service we started offering just over the last 17 months. AcceleDent, a micro-vibrating device that is used in conjunction with braces (either fixed or Invisalign) to fast track treatment, is helping to move teeth quicker – up to 50% faster in some cases.
AcceleDent –second case worldwide (outside clinical trials) to complete treatment
Today, we completed James’ treatment – the second worldwide with this new and exciting device. James used AcceleDent to help fast track treatment his treatment. James had his braces after only 9 months (this treatment would normally take 18 to 24 months). The braces have gone well in time for his gap year travel to Australia and starting university.
